Most senior living communities today more closely resemble hotels than they do the homes where families spend their lives together. Owned and operated in north Dallas, Mustang Creek Estates is changing that by embracing a warm, residential feel where residents live in uniquely designed homes. The company is proud to announce that it recently broke ground on Mustang Creek Estates of Burleson (1155 NW John Jones Drive). The $7 million dollar, 42,000-square-foot assisted living and memory care community will be thoughtfully set up like a neighborhood. Within each of the community’s six specially designed homes, up to 15 seniors will live in an environment in which they feel safe and secure in a friendly and loving place. The focal point of each home will be the open kitchen, where residents can see their food being prepared from scratch and smell the aromas of home-cooked, delicious meals. Residents receive personal assisted care and enjoy participating in enriching and fulfilling daily activities in their home and in other homes throughout the community. This flexible schedule allows residents to continue living as they did in their own homes and at an affordable price. The community will create 50 jobs, and the well-trained, compassionate staff will provide high-quality care for 90 residents. The senior living community is scheduled to open summer of 2016.

Mustang Creek Estates has found that its model creates bonds similar to the ones families share, and it leads to more individualized attention and care paid to each of its residents. The community will sit on just over seven acres of land southwest of Burleson Church of Christ. The community was designed by civil engineer Joseph E. Helmberger, P.E. of Kimley-Horn, a design consulting firm. The community’s architect is Scott Roberts of Creative Architects in Garland.
