– Mustang Creek Estates of Burleson, a residential-style assisted living and memory care community, is proud to announce its newly formed partnership with Johnson County Children’s Advocacy Center. Studies show that in one year, more than 65,000 cases of child abuse are confirmed in Texas. To help children who are victims of sexual or physical abuse, Mustang Creek Estates of Burleson is hosting a donation drive which will go until the end of August. The public is encouraged to drop off diapers (any size), toys and stuffed animals, shampoo, lotion, soap, deodorant, hair brushes, socks, t-shirts, books, pens and crayons at Mustang Creek Estates of Burleson in House B at 1155 NW John Jones Dr. in Burleson. In addition, the senior living community is hosting an open house happy hour event on August 3 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in House B. Guests will be able to donate items for the children and families in need, enjoy refreshments and learn more about this newly formed partnership.
“When Mustang Creek Estates of Burleson reached out to me and offered to host a donation drive I was thrilled,” said Alex Vazquez, family advocate/forensic interviewer at Johnson County Children’s Advocacy Center. “All of the supplies we provide to families are donated, and every donation makes a difference. This was such a nice surprise, and everyone is so excited about the generosity of Mustang Creek Estates of Burleson.”
Johnson County Children’s Advocacy Center provides resources for children who have suffered sexual or physical abuse, witnessed a homicide or violent crime or have been found in dangerous drug environments, and proceeds from this donation drive will benefit children and families affected by these life events. Mustang Creek Estates of Burleson is always looking for ways to have a positive impact on the local community, and the open house happy hour event is one of the many ways the community serves as a resource in the Burleson area.
“We hope the public will support our effort so we can give children and families what they need,” said Karen Jennings, executive director of Mustang Creek Estates of Burleson. “Our team and our residents want to make a difference and encourage others to do their part as well. We are honored to partner with Johnson County Children’s Advocacy Center, and we are thrilled to host our open house event. We look forward to answering any questions the public might have about this donation drive or about our community.”
