Providing care for seniors with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia can take a tremendous physical and emotional toll and cause a high-level of stress. The family-members-turned-caregivers often don’t know who to turn to for advice, as many people can’t imagine how difficult their situation is. In honor of World Alzheimer’s Day and to show their support for those who care for their loved ones, Mustang Creek Estates of Burleson, a residential-style assisted living and memory care community, is proud to announce the kickoff of its new Caregiver Support Group with an event on September 21. This free event is open to the public and will begin with the screening of a moving and emotional documentary chronicling Glen Campbell’s battle with Alzheimer’s called “I’ll Be Me” at 3 p.m. The support group will officially start at 5 p.m. Guests will have the chance to make donations to the Mustang Creek Estates of Burleson team for the Alzheimer’s Walk in September and discuss the challenges connected to caring for someone with such a challenging disease. The Caregiver Support Group will be facilitated by Mission Hospice. Guests are asked to RSVP by calling 682-401-5302.
