As many people around the country participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Mustang Creek Estates of Burleson is organizing its own fundraising event for its walk team called “Bring Your Ride & Wear Your Purple” on Saturday, October 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the senior living community (1155 NW John Jones Dr. in Burleson). The event is a delightful opportunity for the public, residents and family members to join together and raise money to help find a cure. During this unique event, participants will enjoy live music provided by Craig Murphy (1:00 p.m.), a silent auction, games, information booth and snacks. In addition, Stampede Harley Davidson is providing a special purple Harley and other motorbikes for a bike show, and guests are encouraged to bring their own bikes as well. Tours of the senior living community will be available to those who are interested and all donations made during this event will go to the Alzheimer’s Association.

“Our team participates in the Walk every year, and this year we thought hard about how to make it unique for our residents and also for the Burleson community. We believe this event is a perfect way to raise awareness and funds which will benefit everyone affected by Alzheimer’s”, said Karen Jennings, executive director of Mustang Creek Estates of Burleson. “We look forward to opening our doors and enjoying a fun day at our community with the residents, their families and the public.”

Mustang Creek Estates of Burleson realizes the importance of being informed about Alzheimer’s, as this deadly disease is on the rise. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s every 66 seconds. Recently, the senior living community launched a new caregiver support group for those who care for seniors affected by Alzheimer’s.

“We are thankful to Stampede Harley Davidson for providing their motorcycles and helping us make this event special,” said Jennings. “This fundraiser is open to people of all ages who want to come together and help us raise awareness and enjoy a fun event full of good food and entertainment.”

Mustang Creek Estates, whose mission is to provide seniors with high-quality residential-style assisted living and memory care at an affordable price, has additional locations in Allen, Frisco and Keller. Recently, Mustang Creek Estates announced the construction of its newest senior living community in Sachse, which is now accepting reservations and expects to open in fall of 2017.
