On Sat., Oct. 14, the annular solar eclipse will pass through North, Central and South America. The Dallas Arboretum’s Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, is planning several activities of this spectacular view of the partial solar eclipse. Limited tickets are available and must be purchased in advance. Note: no walk-ups will be accepted.

What is a partial eclipse? When the moon passes between the Sun and Earth but the Sun, Moon and Earth are not perfectly lined up creating a crescent shape. The moon will begin to block the sun around 10:23 a.m., and the ring of fire will appear around 11:52 a.m.

Solar Eclipseglasses can be added to your admission order. Pre-sale glasses will be available for pick-up Tuesday, October 10 and Wednesday, October 11 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Gate 1 main entrance. On the day of the Eclipse, pre-sale glasses may be picked up at Jeanne’s Pavilion, adjacent to the Concert stage or DeGolyer pergola.
